Here we revisit 19th century England where we get to sample an old world food that has been largely forgotten. Charles Dickens mentions Pickled Walnuts in his book Pickwick Papers where it is suggested that they were served with ale and stout. These walnuts come from Manjimup and we suggest that you add them to any cheese or Ploughman’s platter. Add to stews or as a condiment with roast meats or fish and chips. Don’t forget the stout.
