Jackies Cooking opened its doors in 2008 by Roy Chin a graduate in information technology, after moving back to Perth from Sydney. At first Jackies Cooking focused mainly on manufacture of many Malaysian spicy foods, Roy decided to change the business to manufacture of Gyoza in 2009, due to a relationship formed with a Japanese distributor. Since the change the company has invested in state of the art machines from Japan to produce top quality gyoza for the Japanese market in Perth.

How did the word Jumplings emerge?

After a few years in business, trying to describe what Jackies Cooking manufactured to friends and to customers became a noticeable problem. It became obvious that an easier memorable name that described the product well would solve this problem, hence the name Jumplings emerged – short for Japanese Dumplings.
