Dubrovnik Butchers - Weisswurst, Kransky & Knackwurst

Three classic European style sausages from Perth’s sausage kings, Dubrovnik Butchers. The two German style sausages – the white Weisswurst and orange Knackwurst – have milder flavours perfect for a grilled hotdog covered in sauerkraut, caramelised onion or mustard. The Slovenian style Kransky has a coarser, drier mince which can be eaten cold or cut into medallions and fried.

Did You Know

At festivals you sometimes see the veal Weisswurst being advertised as the better known Bratwurst. Both are good, but different. Bratwurst is pink with a stronger pork flavour, like an unsmoked Kransky.

The first thing that strikes you about this sauerkraut is the texture; the cabbage is rough cut in large strips and still has ‘crunch’, not like the overly processed, softer sauerkraut you may expect from a jar.
